Testing
RSCC staffs and operates a 20,000 square ft. dedicated laboratory space. Process equipment includes
blenders, a laboratory scale, Banbury mixer and mill, pelletizers, and pilot-plant extrusion equipment.
These facilities also contain equipment to support long-term qualification and environmental testing for a broad range of industries and applications.
Analytical and Test Capabilities:
- Infrared and ultraviolet spectrometry
- Gas chromatography
- Thermal gravimetric analysis
- vacuum distillation
- Flame tests
- Low temperature tests
- Smoke and emission testing
- Tensile strength and elongation
LOCA Test Facility (In-house)
RSCC is capable of nuclear accident simulation testing operating a dedicated LOCA Chamber, pertaining to 10CFR Appendix B,ANSI 45.2, NQA-1, and 10CFR21. This capability represents a unique commitment to the nuclear industry because inside containment environments in new advanced reactors are still being defined with respect to specific cable locations and applications.
RSCC has a full scale flame test chamber that meets all of the latest nuclear requirements and can run a variety of tests including the stringent IEEE-1202 test.
