RSCC Receives Raytheon Supplier Excellence Award
Rockbestos-Surprenant Cable Corporation Receives Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems Supplier Excellence Award.
On March 29, 2006, Rockbestos-Surprenant Cable Corporation (RSCC) was honored by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) during IDS' first Supplier Excellence Award recognition program for their exemplary performance in 2005. The award was given to “The Elite Eight”: eight companies that delivered superior performance to Raytheon that assured on-time deliveries, quality and commitment to process improvement.
"This is not about the amount of business you do with us or the specific product or expertise you bring to us. It is because you 'get it' and embrace our idea that performance matters," said Dan Smith, President of Raytheon IDS, and the keynote speaker. "Providing warfighters reliable and affordable capabilities is why we come to work. You contribute to that every day."
"These companies exemplify Raytheon's commitment to providing premier products and superior customer service," said Zack Noshirwani, Vice President of Raytheon IDS Integrated Supply Chain. Throughout the evening, IDS leaders conveyed that the award is designed to recognize supplier excellence, link supplier performance to IDS performance and the warfighter, and build partnerships in providing solutions to customers.
Integrated Defense Systems is Raytheon's leader in Joint Battlespace Integration providing affordable, integrated solutions to a strong international and domestic customer base, including the U.S. Missile Defense Agency and the U.S. armed forces.
RSCC provides Raytheon with special military cable used for ballistic missile and US Navy programs.
"We are honored to receive this award from Raytheon. We feel it validates our Key Customer focus and in this case, there can be no more important customers than those who risk their lives for us on a daily basis", states Dennis Chalk (RSCC Vice President of Sales & Marketing). "Rockbestos-Surprenant Cable Corporation’s goal is to be the premier supplier of specialty wire and cable for the Military."

Jack Griffin (RSCC Military Cell Business Manager), who accepted the award for RSCC, added "The cellular approach to carrying out the daily and weekly activities of producing the highest quality products competitively and having industry’s best delivery performance for all our customers has placed Rockbestos-Surprenant Cable Corporation as the preferred supplier for many of our customers. A walking tour of Raytheon’s Andover, MA facility demonstrated that RSCC and Raytheon IDS are truly on the same page regarding Market Segmentation and cellular concepts and practices to conduct one’s business. Recognition by Raytheon IDS is validation of everyone’s focused effort and desire to perform their responsibilities to the best of their abilities every hour, day and week here in the Military, Shipboard and Specialty Cell. I’ve been in this industry, primarily servicing Military customers close to 37 years and have never been more proud of all those that I work with. The "standard for excellence" has been set going forward and there is no reason to feel that Rockbestos-Surprenant cannot meet and exceed this standard in the weeks and months ahead for Raytheon and all of our valued customers."
